Testimonials of clients, families and professionals

Hear from our clients, their loved ones, and fellow professionals about the compassionate, expert care and support that makes a lasting difference.

Michelle genuinely cares and this is demonstrated by follow-up calls, emails and working with our daughter's school to ensure she is fully supported. Michelle displays compassion and empathy while providing the appropriate level of guidance and advice. We feel safe that our daughter has someone "in her corner" that she can talk to about anything. I couldn't recommend Michelle enough to anyone who has a teen in need of support.

Michelle, the only feedback I have for you is to "keep doing what you are doing" because we have seen a positive change in our daughter since she started collaborating with you. I feel you have quite literally saved her life and we are grateful that she has someone to confide in, trust and who has her best interests at heart. Thank you so much.

I connect with Michelle professionally around 2 years ago, possibly 3 years.. Initially, to support a young person with historical trauma. Since the initial referral/positive outcome, I have continued to refer community, young people and family units to Michelle as the therapeutic approach/work Michelle offered from her service as support has been incredible. Some of the work she supported alongside community has been life changing. I have found great comfort referring community to Michelle, knowing they will obtain all the benefits out of Art therapy and progression on their healing journey at a safe space. I have shared this positive experience across our ACCO resulting in more referrals with Michelle throughout our community.

The feedback from community has been all very positive, from parents to young people they have all expressed the sessions to be supportive and look forward to their future appointments. Michelle has created a culturally safe space for Mob to access Art therapy and Counselling, I ongoing will continue to refer multiple young people, family and individuals to Michelle with comfort. From a professional Lense, Michelle has shown up so deadly, she is organised and prepared to work in the best direction for each referral, she has allowed professionals to guide the direction/approach once a referral is received to ensure she delivers her service in the most culturally sensitivity and appropriate way for Mob. Often when a community member is working with Michelle over our period of intervention we will seek between 10-15 sessions as there is such deadly work completed in this time with Michelle- if that alone doesn't show how great she is I am sure connecting with her will! We love Michelle :)

Zara has settled in so nicely to her art therapy sessions and feels it is a safe environment for her to be herself. She looks forward to her fortnightly sessions.

Candice (Mother of Zara)

Michelle is very kind and patient. She helps me a lot with ideas for artwork which helps a lot with expressing my emotions and I always feel more happy and calm after my sessions with Michelle.

Michelle's genuine, compassionate and dedicated nature never cease to amaze me. As a placement student and an emerging social worker, Michelle provided a space for collaboration that was meaninginful to my learning experience. Her empathy, respect, advoacacy skills and gentle curiousness are just some of the natural abilities I aim to foster in my own professional identity as a social worker and as a person.

I feel very honoured and privileged that I got to work with Michelle. I am grateful for my time on placement, especially due to Michelle's contributions, knowledge and experiences that reassured me that this is the career pathway I want to take. I hope our paths cross again in future work opportunities.

Rosie (Social Work Student )

I had the privilege of being able to partake in regular art therapy sessions with Michelle regularly over a period of 4 months. The space created by Michelle was safe and nurturing and allowed me to explore parts of myself that I was unaware of prior to the sessions. I never came out of a session not feeling enlightened. The freedom she offered me to be creative, expressive and flow through all that came up for me was a true gift. We focussed not only on art but also on meditation, breath work and visualisation. I cannot speak more highly of Michelle and the impact she has had on my being.

Michelle is an exceptional network coordinator, having taken on the role of the coordinator of the Geelong Family Violence network. This network had been dormant for quite some time, and Michelle has gone to great effort to not only reinvigorate the network, but bring exceptional guest speakers and put immense effort into the network, which has not gone unnoticed.

I am thoroughly impressed by Michelle's work in the Geelong Family Violence network and I hope she will continue to stay on as coordinator as she has done amazing work!

Rachael (Project Officer at Mental Health Professionals Network)

My Art Therapy sessions are fun, calm and relaxing. I have learnt how to express my emotions and make decisions.
